Whether you are early in your counseling career or you have been providing counseling services for some time, the Distance Supervision: An Introduction micro-course can help you move your counseling career forward by providing the knowledge needed when entering a distance counseling supervisory relationship from the perspectives of both the supervisee and the supervisor.

This micro-course provides a broad introduction to the skills and responsibilities associated with receiving and providing counseling supervision from a distance and how to to gain the most from an effective distance counseling supervisory relationship through real-world scenarios and interactive content.

Note: This micro-course is designed to provide an introduction to the concepts of delivering counseling supervision at a distance. Please check with your local state board of examiners, secretary of state office, or other agency that governs the licensing and delivery of counseling supervision services in your state to determine the certification and licensing requirements you may need to fulfill to offer such services to the public.

What You Will Learn

Upon successful completion of this learning path, you will be able to:

  • Identify ethical codes and competence standards for distance supervision of counseling services.

  • Examine the supervisee and supervisor roles and responsibilities in distance supervision.
  • Examine the process of establishing supervisory relationships.
